The Hebrew Home will hold its fifth annual “Grandparent of the Year” contest, which will honor two grandparents, one from the community and one from the Hebrew Home family, who have made a difference in a family’s life.  The Hebrew Home will announce the winner of the contest on September 27. 

Submissions can be made online at dpomeranz@hebrewhome.org. The entry must include a 150-word essay that demonstrates why the applicant should be the “Grandparent of the Year.”  The essays will be judged by their sincerity, originality, clarity and emulation of the critical role grandparents play in family life.  Please note at the top whether the nominee lives in the community or at the Hebrew Home 

The nominee for the community award must be a grandparent living in New York City, Long Island or Westchester County.  The nominee from the Hebrew Home must be a resident of either the Home or RiverWalk.  The nominator does not need to be related to the nominee. 

Applications will be accepted through September 20.  Each grandparent winner will receive a $100 American Express gift card and each nominator will receive a $50 Itunes gift card.
