Directions to The Hebrew Home at Riverdale and RiverWalk

From The West—New Jersey and Pennsylvania

From the West, take the George Washington Bridge. Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway North. Northbound take Exit 22, which is 253rd Street and Riverdale Avenue. Make a right off the exit and follow the road to Riverdale Avenue. Continue straight on Riverdale Avenue to 261st Street. Make a left on 261st Street. Continue to the end of the street. Make a left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance to the Hebrew Home is on your right.

From the North—Westchester County or Connecticut

Take the Hutchinson River Parkway or the Bronx River Parkway to the Cross County Parkway. Then take the Cross County Parkway to the Henry Hudson Parkway South; or take the Saw Mill River Parkway to the Henry Hudson Parkway South to Exit 22, which is 254th street and Riverdale Avenue. Make a left on 254th Street and proceed to the light. Make a right on Riverdale Avenue. Take Riverdale Avenue to 261st Street. Turn left on 261st Street and continue to the end of the block. Make a left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance to the Hebrew Home is on your right.

From the South—Brooklyn, Staten Island and Manhattan

Take the West Side Highway to the Henry Hudson Parkway to Exit 22, which is 253rd Street and Riverdale Avenue. Make a right off the exit and follow the road to Riverdale Avenue. Go north on Riverdale Avenue to 261st Street. Make a left on 261st Street and continue to the end of the street. Make a left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance to the Hebrew Home is on your right.

From the East—Long Island or Queens

Take the Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway. Exit at Rosedale Avenue/Bronx River Parkway. Take Bronx River Parkway North to the Mosholu Parkway. Bear right onto Mosholu Parkway to the Henry Hudson Parkway South. Get off at Exit 22 which is West 254th Street. Turn left at the stop sign and go one block to Riverdale Avenue. Turn right on Riverdale Avenue and go to 261st Street. Turn left on 261st Street and continue to the end of the street. Make a left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance to the Hebrew Home is on your right.

The I.R.T. Line

Take the I.R.T.—the Number One or Nine train—to 231st Street. Transfer to the city bus line Bx 10 or Bx 7. Get off at 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. Cross Riverdale Avenue and head west on 261st Street. Walk to the end of 261st Street. Turn left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance is on your right.

The I.N.D. Line

Take the Eighth Avenue “A” train to 207th Street. Transfer to the Bx7 city bus. Get off at 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. Cross Riverdale Avenue and head west on 261st Street. Walk to the end of 261st Street. Turn left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance is on your right.

By Metro North

Take the Metro-North Hudson Line from Grand Central to Riverdale Station. A rail link bus will take you from the train station to 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. Cross Riverdale Avenue and head west on 261st Street. Walk to the end of 261st Street. Turn left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance is on your right. MTA

By MTA—From the East Side, take the BxM #1 to 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. From the West Side, take the BxM #2 to 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. Cross Riverdale Avenue and head west on 261st Street. Walk to the end of 261st Street. Turn left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance is on your right. City Bus

By City Bus—Take either the #7 or the #10 Bronx city bus to 261st Street and Riverdale Avenue. Cross Riverdale Avenue and head west on 261st Street. Walk to the end of 261st Street. Turn left on Palisade Avenue. The entrance is on your right.

From GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE: Henry Hudson Parkway North to Exit 19 (toward W. 232nd Street). Merge onto Henry Hudson Parkway EAST. Turn RIGHT onto West 235th St. Turn RIGHT onto Johnson Avenue.

From WEST SIDE HIGHWAY: To Henry Hudson Parkway NORTH to Exit 19 (toward W 232nd St). Merge onto Henry Hudson Parkway EAST. Turn RIGHT onto West 235th St. Turn RIGHT onto Johnson Ave.

Transportation from Westchester

SAW MILL RIVER PARKWAY to Henry Hudson Parkway South to Exit 19 (W232nd St). Make Left onto W. 232nd St. Turn LEFT onto Henry Hudson Parkway EAST. Turn RIGHT onto West 235th St. Turn RIGHT onto Johnson Ave.

CROSS COUNTY PARKWAY to Henry Hudson Parkway South. Follow above.

(NOTE These directions reflect the fact that the 231 th street station is temporarily closed):

#1 train North to 225 st Street – Transfer to the Bronx Bus line #7 to Riverdale and Greystone avenues. Walk up Riverdale Avenue 1 block. Make a left onto 235 th street. Then, make a left onto Johnson Avenue. Riverdale Terrace is across the street from the Key Food Parking Lot. (Note: this information will change once the 231 st Street station re-opens)

By Express Bus:

Take the BxM 1 or BxM 2 bus to the Henry Hudson Parkway and 236 th Street. Walk east on 236 th Street, pass Arlington and Netherland Avenues until you get to Johnson Avenue. Turn Right onto Johnson Avenue. Riverdale Terrace is on your right, across the street from the Key Food Parking Lot.
